> I can understand why coaches that teach a form of the Lau method would say the lead-leg plays no role in hip rotation. To them, if a batter should have flex in the lead-knee at foot plant, the leg would straighten due to “middle out” action – not leg drive. This is certainly not the case with my students or what I see in many of the very best hitters.

Alright thanks, that clears up some things. But now I ask if it's possible to have too much leg drive and front side pull? Cause at contact I have my front hip in the same position as the shoulders-pulling back toward the catcher. The belly button is pointing toward the pull field, yet it feels natural. Could this be from using the back leg too much in aiding the front side pull?
