Hi Pete,

I have no problem with you responding to my post. I love to talk
about this more than anything in the world. I really feel like this
is the main problem. I haven't hit into a heavy bag yet but I think
this will help.

I was thinking about everything a couple days ago and it dawned on me
that while throw speed and bat speed mechanics are similar in a lot of
ways they are also so very different. The biggest difference is the
arm and hand are the "bat" if you will. The bat being a rigid object
is much different (of course) than the arm and hand. I think it's
easier to develop good pitching mechanics more so than good hitting
mechanics because there is no rigid object that we are using as an
extension of ourselves. The bat develops all sorts of problems.
There are many different things that can go wrong when holding a bat.
We don't feel the bat. It's not a part of our body. Just interesting
stuff to discuss...
