I don't agree with this in the case of what MLB hitters must do to succeed.

You need to change trajectory of the bat to match the pitch location. This is better thought of, for example, as needing earlier (early in sense of starting bat acceleration SPATIALLY EARLIER behind the batter) bathead acecleration to make solid contact for outside pitches.

Early batspeed requires more THT.

The key to the high level swing pattern as Jack says is "transfer mechanics".

This consists of an optimal blend of CHP and Handle torque, NOT "CHP only" (or CHP and BHT or CHP and HOOK only) which is what you and Nyman and Enlglishbey claim.

Even Nyman's own ironnyman models (which he interprets erroneously) support this. Nyman's says that actively applied THT is impossible and that HOOK or BHT is purely the result of flail/whip, not handle torque.

Saying THT is impossible to actively apply is ridiculous.

Whether hook is flail or BHT doesn't matter as the mechanic is the same - hook by lead shoulder pinch/shrug, not shortening lead arm

The "sharpness" is a sign of lack of THT/early batspeed which shows the more rounded shape/earlier "blur" of acceleration (more blur at lower resolution such as 30 fps).

You can get away with lack of tht for inside, but then you can't handle outside optimally.
